Let's Eat!
The first week looks like this:
One meal a day
The remainder of meals and intake are liquid
Hydrate!(see tip #1 below)
Go ORGANIC
NO DAIRY
NO MEAT
Tip #1: |
Begin your day with a large glass of salt water w/ lemon (and ACV if you like!)
If you are using charcoal, now is the time to take your capsule (440mg). Just REALLY keep the water flowing if you take charcoal. Salt Water mix for the detox: 1 Tablespoon of salt of choice + 1 Liter water |
Why Salt: |
Liquids mean:
Smoothies Pureed Soups Juices Lots of berries, lots of greens. Coconut Water has electrolytes! Chia Seeds have a super high nutrient content. Use them in your smoothies! Make Chia Pudding! They also assist the colon with a high fiber content |
**see note below
|
Meals look like: Salads with veggie sides Salads with hummus and veggie stix Salads with salsa and veggie stix Salad with brown rice, quinoa, or other whole grains Salad with Lentil Loaf (**see note below) Gently cooked soups (like minestrone) If you are going to put pasta in your soup, ONLY use a whole grain pasta. Or better yet, use brown rice. |
Tip #2: |
The easiest way to make it through this is to save the meal for later in the day, late afternoon.
Have as many fruit /veg juices and smoothies as you like. Stay committed, but don't make yourself crazy. |
Tip #3: |
If it is winter where you are, simply use gently cooked veggies to keep yourself warm. I did my first cleanse in the dead of New England winter and made lots of creamy veg soups with potatoes, cauliflower, and nutritional yeast!
|
My typical salad looks like this:
Lettuce, shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, fermented beets, kimchi & or hummus (tucked on the side), pepitas, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, salt & pepper, miso dressing. |
Grocery
|
Fruits of all kind - freeze for smoothies!
Veggies! Herbs Olives Onion Mushrooms Coconut Oil Herbal teas |
Seeds (sunflower, chia, pepita, flax, etc)
Ginger Cacao (nibs/powder) Nuts Lentils, legumes, beans Brown Rice Quinoa |
Vinegar
Kimchi Coconut & Olive oil (NEVER use seed oils! they are toxic!) Hummus Honey and dates are ok week 1, in moderation , but go away next week |
Juicing Suggestions:
Beets Carrots Celery Cucumber Apple Kale What do YOU like? |
Pinterest Note**there is a lentil loaf recipe on there that I make quite often. It is filling and goes perfectly with a salad, or roasted potatoes in colder weather. Its a bit of an effort, but makes many meals and freezes well. Might be a good plan-ahead meal to consider.
